The General Atomics MQ-9 'Reaper' is an unmanned aerial vehicle or UAV. It is powered by a turboprop engine and can cruise for 12 hours, remotely controlled from a distant location. The primary role is surveillance, and the MQ-9 can feed live video back to it's remote operators, and it's onboard systems include infrared, radar, image-intensified TV, and other systems which can be configured for each mission.
The MQ-9 can carry 360 Kg internally, and up to 1,400 Kg on 6 hardpoints, including Hellfire missiles, GBU-12 Paveway, and JDAM. Other possible weapons are being tested.
